The school works very closely with Coleg Cambria in a number of capacities. In the first instance, pupils from Rhosnesni High School attend a great variety of ‘collaborative’ courses at the main town centre campus as well as subsiduary sites e.g. Bersham Road. Some examples of the courses available are Bricklaying, Construction, Engineering, Computing, Economics, Psychology, Performing Arts and Hair and Beauty.
Coleg Cambria are also heavily involved in the Careers and World of Work Programme at Rhosnesni High School. Representatives from Coleg Cambria are frequently involved in Parents Evenings, Careers Events and Assemblies, to ensure all pupils have an excellent level of awareness of the opportunities available to them when they leave Rhosnesni.

At Ysgol Rhosnesni High School, we run a very successful work experience programme each year. Historically, this has taken place during late September in Year 11 where over 95% of pupils complete a full weeks work experience. More recently, this has been moved to late June in Year 10. The companies that offer places to pupils vary in size from sole traders to multi national organisations. The pupils benefit tremendously from this experience and use the skills and knowledge gained to support progress and coursework during normal lessons.
Extended School Partnerships
At Ysgol Rhosnesni High School, we work very closely with a wide range of external trainging providers to ensure that all pupils maximise their attainment by engaging in a truly appropriate curriculum. Some examples of organisations we currently work with are:
All of the above provision leads to nationally recognised qualifications as well as developing self esteem, confidence, team working and communication.
Friday 4th May 2018, message from Miss Brown, Deputy Headteacher
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely bank holiday weekend. It has been a very busy term and our students have been involved in a range of exciting activities this term including a KS3 Maths Challenge organised by the Maths Department. In addition preparations are well underway for our Achievement Awards Evening at Glyndwr University on Thursday 12th July. Further information will follow.
For Parents of Year 6 students joining us in September, you will have received your welcome letter with the arrangements for the transition days and the parent welcome evening being held on Wednesday 27th June in the school hall. The evening will be hosted by our new Headteacher Mr Andrew Brant and further transition information will be added to our Transition Page once finalised.
Our Y11 students have been working very hard and attending sessions after school revision sessions. A letter is being issued to Y11 students today outlining important information regarding the school Prom and home study arrangements. The GCSE Examinations commence on Tuesday 8th May and there are a number of pre exam briefings available to support your child. A copy of the letter is available under the Parents section of the school website.
Finally, on behalf of all staff I would like to wish all of our Y10 and Y11 students the best of luck in their exams.
