GCSE Results Ysgol Rhosnesni High School
I am delighted to report that the school has continued on our journey of improvement made by the school in 2014 with 95% of students achieving 5 or more GCSE passes and with significant success in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science. Once again we have achieved success with 50% of students achieving 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths and over 73% of students achieving 5 or more GCSE’s A*-C.
The school has made significant overall improvement in the standard of achievement at numerous levels at both key stage 3 and key stage 4 this year and this builds upon the previous successes in recent years. It is our goal to ensure that we continue to improve even further in the future. I am proud of the achievements by students in Year 11 and we have had some excellent outcomes for students in Year 10 as well this summer.
I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to all students who have worked tremendously hard to gain their qualifications and to wish them every success in the future. There have been some outstanding results this year with some impressive individual achievements by students including students achieving 17, 18 and even 19 GCSE results. We wish all students every success on the next steps of their careers.
These improvements to academic results along with improved attendance in 2015 reflect the continued determination and commitment of our school to ensure that the children at Ysgol Rhosnesni achieve their full potential and beyond. These improvements have been recognised by Estyn this year. I would like to thank the staff who have worked so hard to enable the students to achieve their results and the Governors and parents who have provided the important support to enable children to do so well.
Monday 4th June, message from Miss Brown, Deputy Headteacher
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our staff and students back after a lovely week off. We are also excited to welcome Mr Andrew Brant our new headteacher who is looking forward to meeting all of our students and continuing the schools successful journey forward.
For Parents of Year 6 students joining us in September, you will have received your welcome letter with the arrangements for the transition days and the parent welcome evening being held on Wednesday 27th June in the school hall. The evening will be hosted by our new Headteacher Mr Andrew Brant and further transition information will be added to our Transition Page once finalised.
Our Y11 students have been working very hard and attending sessions after school revision sessions. A letter is being issued to Y11 students today outlining important information regarding the school Prom and home study arrangements. The GCSE Examinations commence on Tuesday 8th May and there are a number of pre exam briefings available to support your child. A copy of the letter is available under the Parents section of the school website.
Finally, on behalf of all staff I would like to wish all of our Y10 and Y11 students the best of luck in their exams.
