It is my pleasure as the Headteacher to welcome you to Ysgol Rhosnesni.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope that you will find the information on the website useful and informative. Ysgol Rhosnesni High School is a mixed English-medium, 11-16 community comprehensive school situated in Wrexham in North East Wales. We work in collaboration with seven feeder primary schools on the east side of the town to provide a strong and varied programme of curriculum opportunities in preparation for a smooth transition between primary and secondary school.
At Ysgol Rhosnesni we believe in every individual student achieving their potential and we are committed to developing the enjoyment of learning as part of our caring, purposeful and supportive learning environment, where individual students matter and their well-being and success are important to us.
At the heart of our community is our commitment to ensuring that all students achieve their potential in an atmosphere of respect and challenge. To enable us to achieve this goal, we need the participation and commitment of our students and the support of their parents/guardians. My staff are committed to achieving the best and in 2014 we achieved the highest standard of results at KS4 in the schools history.
At Ysgol Rhosnesni High School we are proud of the achievements of our students and we believe in high standards and expectations. We believe that we can make a positive difference to the future life-chances of each and every young person.
We aim to promote traditional values and expectations with a focus on Respect, Honesty and Success together with an understanding and appreciation of the language and culture which is unique to Wales. We also endeavour to prepare our students for life in the 21st Century through curriculum initiatives, access to future technologies, extra curricular experiences, opportunities to learn in flexible learning environments and to support student voice.
We believe in working together with our students to develop their future roles as ambassadors of learning, respectful members of our community and hard workers and aim to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding they will need for future adult life.
Please explore our website to find out more information about our school and its wider community.
If you require any further information about our school, please do not hesitate to contact the school to arrange an opportunity to visit Ysgol Rhosnesni or to talk to us about our school community.

Headteacher / Pennaeth
Friday 2nd March
School is open as normal to all students and we will monitor the situation throughout the day. Please take care on the roads and pavements surrounding the school as there is lots of ice. For the safety of our staff and students please drop students outside the school gates wherever possible.
If at any stage a decision is made to close the school the information will be put onto the WCBC School information pages by the Headteacher as soon as the school site has been inspected and information is available – http://wrexham.gov.uk/english/education/school_status.cfm
If anything changes parents will be kept up to date throughout the day via text updates and information will be made available on the schools Twitter account and the school website.
We politely ask that you please check for online updates before calling the school directly for information.
Thank you for your support.
